Job Responsibilities

The family home operations in Hisingen currently consist of two unit managers and four senior social workers, organized into five different teams.

One team works with placements in emergency homes, one team recruits and investigates new permanent family homes, and two teams support our family homes in-house. The fifth team works with contact and support measures according to SoL and LSS.

We are temporarily strengthening the management of our emergency group. The team consists of six emergency home secretaries whose main task is to ensure access to emergency homes and provide our emergency homes with the support, training, and guidance they need to perform their tasks in the best possible way.

As a senior social worker, you will work closely with the unit manager and contribute to the development of the unit. The role involves leading and distributing work, acting as an expert, and supporting caseworkers in their daily work, including their prioritizations and towards increased independence in their work.

You will also introduce new caseworkers, conduct statistical follow-ups, and participate in the implementation of new working methods. Furthermore, you will review case handling based on applicable legislation and guidelines, read written materials, and provide feedback to caseworkers. The role includes approving investigations of new family homes. An important part of the assignment is to actively work for a good working environment in the group you are responsible for.

You will collaborate with other senior social workers within the organization and the Social Administration Hisingen, as well as with other managers within the family home units in Gothenburg.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a trained social worker with several years of professional experience, preferably in family home care. Training in the Kälvesten model and other training related to supervision of contractors, such as ICDP, is an advantage. Experience in a managerial role is also a plus.

The Social Administration Hisingen is part of the social services in Gothenburg. We are one of four social administrations. We work purposefully to create a better everyday life for the residents of Hisingen.
