We are Uppsala University Hospital – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a regional hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we offer services to two million people in Central Sweden. Something is always happening here – a new life is born, a grandmother is operated on, a colleague is celebrated as a hero. With us, you will experience both tough challenges and fantastic events, in a strong community with colleagues. Our Operations
The Department of Orthopedics and Hand Surgery at Uppsala University Hospital primarily conducts highly specialized care and is divided into seven sections; trauma, spine, prosthetics, shoulder/knee, foot, hand, and pediatric. Within the department, we have two inpatient wards, two outpatient units, an operating planning unit, and a research and quality unit. You will work in the operating planning unit as part of a team of surgical coordinators, where you will collectively be responsible for the surgical planning within the department. We primarily plan semi-urgent and elective surgeries.
Your Mission
A surgical coordinator is the face of the department. As a surgical coordinator, you are responsible for the planning of elective and urgent patients for day surgery and inpatient operations. The work requires close collaboration with doctors, the surgical manager, care departments, care placement coordinators, outpatient clinics, and surgery. You are responsible for maintaining contact with patients who are to be operated on and providing them with necessary information. A prerequisite for succeeding in this role is that you have knowledge/experience of Cosmic and Orbit. You will meet patients in the outpatient clinic and have phone contact with both patients and colleagues at the hospital.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for a licensed nurse, preferably with several years of experience in highly specialized surgical care. Experience in surgical planning and/or orthopedics and hand surgery is an advantage.
Your Competence
You should be attentive, service-oriented, and able to collaborate easily with others while being confident in working independently. You are skilled at planning, prioritizing, and organizing, as well as making and implementing decisions. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability, and we are looking for a colleague who is responsible, driven, flexible, innovative, and enjoys a varied pace and tasks.
We Offer
We offer a permanent position. Working hours are scheduled Monday to Friday, and the position is for 100% employment. A 6-month probationary period may apply. Start date according to agreement.
With us, you will receive benefits that make a difference; read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/).
