Department of Surgery & Urology

We have about 400 employees distributed across outpatient clinics, wards, and medical sections. A large part of our care consists of national and regional patients referred for highly specialized investigation and treatment. We are a research-intensive clinic in close collaboration with Uppsala University.

Section for Emergency and Trauma Surgery

The section takes care of patients in need of emergency surgical care and is responsible for trauma services. In addition to performing emergency surgeries, we also handle gastroscopies for acute gastrointestinal bleeding, manage bowel bleeding together with the colorectal section, and oversee the ERCP operations in collaboration with the liver-pancreas section. We are also responsible for Short-term Surgery where we operate on various types of hernias and patients with gallstone disease.

Your Qualifications

You are a licensed physician with completed specialist training in surgery. We are looking for a colleague who is willing to engage in emergency surgery, wants to conduct research in the field, and values education. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability and the ability to collaborate.
