Your Mission

In the role of elementary teacher in leisure activities, you primarily work with students in grades F-3.

Together with teachers and the leisure team, you create a cohesive, safe, and developing school day. In close collaboration, you plan and structure the day with the goal of providing students with the best possible teaching and learning. During the school day, you are a present, active, and supportive educator in the classroom, in smaller teaching groups, and during breaks.

After school hours, you have a shared overall responsibility for the leisure activities. You are part of the team for the leisure activities, consisting of elementary teachers in leisure activities, resource educators, and childcare workers. In close collaboration, you plan, implement, and evaluate activities based on established guidelines. You work from the perspective that leisure is part of the school's teaching, where activities are planned with a clear educational purpose and linked to the school's themes and focus areas. Together, you create a safe, inspiring, and stimulating environment where students' social and educational development is the focus, while activities are adapted to their interests, needs, and conditions.

An important part of your mission is to build trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You actively contribute to the school's systematic quality work and take responsibility for planning, leading, and developing the leisure activities' teaching.

Your Experience

For this position, you are required to have:

• Teaching certification with authorization as an elementary teacher in leisure activities
• Experience working as an elementary teacher in leisure activities
• Experience working in a school with students in lower grades
• Good digital competence with experience working with digital pedagogical tools
• Good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

It is meritorious if you also have:

• Experience working with students who need extra adjustments and special support
• Experience leading colleagues and the pedagogical work within the leisure activities
• Experience actively driving the systematic development and quality work of the leisure activities forward.

We Offer

Ektorps School is a F-9 school with approximately 550 students. In August, we moved into a completely new school building with modern and welcoming learning environments, which we share with Ektorps adapted primary school, Skuru-Duvnäs resource school, and Skogsstigens preschool.
