The Culture and Leisure Administration in Sigtuna municipality works to promote cultural and leisure activities in the municipality; we are a workplace that wants to make a difference! We are a politically governed service organization where our clients are the residents. We work together in our various activities to find new ideas and solutions that contribute to residents' quality of life, sustainability, and health, as well as increased integration and combating exclusion.

The administration consists of five areas of operation that include:

• Leisure, sports, swimming pool, ice rink, and association activities
• Performing arts, film, theater, art, music, museums, libraries, cultural heritage, and Finnish administrative area/minority work.
• Youth culture, open youth activities, leisure activities, and cultural school.

Right now, something big is happening in Valsta in Sigtuna municipality. In the middle of the square, a brand new cultural house – Mimer – is rising. The building is designed for both residents and businesses to meet and develop in new ways. Behind the large windows, a dynamic content is emerging. Here, libraries, media studios, creative workshops, stages, cafes, meeting rooms, and community services come together under one roof. Together, the activities will form a vibrant cultural house that contributes to a safe and sustainable Valsta.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Sigtuna municipality's libraries are currently located in four places: Märsta, Rosersberg, Sigtuna, and Valsta. By offering literature, information, and creating conditions for good meetings, learning, and creativity, the libraries provide tools for a well-functioning democracy. Through good service, the libraries are safe and welcoming places for everyone.

Until the cultural house Mimer opens, library activities are currently conducted at the Meeting Place in Valsta, and in 2026 we will invest in further developing the meeting place in preparation for the opening of the new cultural house.

We are now looking for a program coordinator with upcoming responsibility for the library in the cultural house Mimer. In 2026, the role includes project managing the library's move into the cultural house Mimer, as well as enriching and coordinating the library's program offerings at the Meeting Place in Valsta with a focus on promoting reading, digital participation, and resident involvement. After the move, the position will transition to being the program coordinator with responsibility for the library in the cultural house Mimer.

Job Tasks

• Plan and coordinate the project for the library's move into the cultural house Mimer.
• Develop the library's offerings with a focus on promoting reading, digital competence, and resident involvement at the Meeting Place in Valsta during 2026.
• Build networks and collaborate with actors in all departments of the municipal organization, civil society, business, the region, and other relevant actors.
• After the move: be responsible for program activities and place responsibility for library operations in the cultural house Mimer.
• Provide service, support, and guidance to visitors in the library operations in the cultural house Mimer.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Academic degree, for example, with a focus on libraries, culture, society, or language science.
• Documented experience in project management, preferably within cultural or library activities.
• Experience in planning and implementing program activities with a focus on promoting reading, digital participation, and resident involvement.
• Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.
• Digital competence and experience working with relevant systems and tools.
• Experience in network building and collaboration with external actors such as civil society, business, and public organizations.
