Are you a librarian with experience in acquisitions? We are now looking for a new team member for the Archives and Library unit. In close collaboration with an experienced team, you will have the opportunity to influence both detail and overall aspects of projects that strengthen the capabilities of the Armed Forces and Sweden. Your work is significant at every step, from needs and ideas to delivery and follow-up.

About the Position

In this role, you will have a central task in building and maintaining a current and relevant collection of digital resources and media that supports the agency's mission. You will work with the entire chain from needs analysis, selection, and purchasing to cataloging, budget monitoring, and quality assurance. You will contribute to improving access to information and developing the library's functions and digital offerings. The position involves significant responsibility for the acquisition process and gives you the space to find sustainable and innovative solutions that meet user needs. You will also support the organization in effectively using digital resources and participate in the work of modernizing and digitizing the agency's information resources in this special library.

The position is located in Stockholm.

About You

We are looking for someone with a degree in library and information science or other education that we consider equivalent. You have several years of current experience working in library functions with a focus on acquisitions, document coordination, cataloging, or collection development. The position requires that you have several years of current and relevant experience in administrative work within library systems. Furthermore, we expect you to have good knowledge of acquisition processes including ordering, procurement, evaluation, and selection, as well as an understanding of copyright issues and licensing related to digital resources. A fundamental requirement is that you have good knowledge of Swedish and English in both spoken and written form.

It is advantageous if you have experience in developing digital tools and teaching resources such as e-learning materials, interactive guides, or AI support. If you also have knowledge of public access, confidentiality, library, administrative, or archive laws, we see that as a plus. Work experience from a total defense authority is particularly meritorious.

Personal qualities are very important to us. We welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences and are looking for someone who is results-oriented, has good financial awareness, and understands their role while considering the overall best interests of the organization in actions and decisions. We also see that you are self-driven, service-oriented, and have the ability to plan and organize your work.
