The Culture and Leisure Administration in Sigtuna municipality works to promote cultural and leisure activities in the municipality; we are a workplace that wants to make a difference! We are a politically governed service organization where our clients are the residents. We work together in our various activities to find new ideas and solutions that contribute to residents' quality of life, sustainability, and health, as well as increased integration and combating social exclusion.

The administration consists of five areas of activity, which include:

• Leisure, sports, swimming pools, ice rinks, and association activities
• Performing arts, film, theater, art, music, museums, libraries, cultural heritage, and Finnish administrative area.
• Youth culture, open youth activities, leisure activities, and cultural schools.

Currently, something big is happening in Valsta in Sigtuna municipality. In the middle of the square, a brand new cultural house - Mimer - is rising. The building is designed for both residents and activities to meet and develop in new ways.

Behind the large windows, a dynamic content is emerging. Here, libraries, media studios, creative workshops, stages, cafes, meeting rooms, and community services come together under one roof. Together, the activities will form a vibrant cultural house that contributes to a safe and sustainable Valsta.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Sigtuna municipality's libraries are located in four places: Märsta, Rosersberg, Sigtuna, and Valsta. By offering literature, information, and creating conditions for good meetings, learning, and creativity, the libraries provide tools for a well-functioning democracy. Through good service, the libraries are safe and welcoming places for everyone.

We are looking for a driven and development-oriented librarian to develop library services for adults. You will have media responsibility and drive the work with media and information literacy forward. The position is based at Märsta library, but work at other libraries is included. The operations are conducted every day of the week, and both evening and weekend work are included.

Your role includes:

• Providing service, support, and guidance to visitors at our libraries.
• Media responsibility within non-fiction for adults, as well as interlibrary loans, newspapers, magazines, and being part of a smaller group around e-media. You are part of the libraries' larger media group and contribute to strategic planning for the entire media collection.
• Developing the libraries' work with media and information literacy, for example, regarding the future of news dissemination, AI, open science, source criticism, and digital participation.
• Developing innovative and user-friendly solutions that strengthen the libraries' role in promoting freedom of opinion and knowledge dissemination, for example, through projects and program activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Through your work, you contribute to strengthening knowledge, critical thinking, and digital participation, making our libraries places where people can navigate a complex information world.

You have:

• A degree in library and information science or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent.
• Experience working in public libraries with media responsibility (e.g., purchasing, weeding, e-media).
• Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.
• High digital competence.
• Good knowledge of today's media landscape, e.g., AI, open science, and news dissemination.
• It is an advantage if you have experience in strategic media work and participation in media planning.
