The Culture and Leisure Administration in Sigtuna Municipality works to promote cultural and leisure activities in the municipality; we are a workplace that wants to make a difference! We are a politically governed service organization where our clients are the residents. We work together in our various activities to find new ideas and solutions that contribute to residents' quality of life, sustainability, and health, as well as increased integration and combating exclusion.

The administration consists of five areas of operation, which include:

• Leisure, sports, swimming pools, ice rinks, and association activities
• Performing arts, film, theater, art, music, museums, libraries, cultural heritage, and Finnish administrative area.
• Youth culture, open youth activities, leisure activities, and cultural schools.

Right now, something big is happening in Valsta in Sigtuna Municipality. In the middle of the square, a brand new cultural house – Mimer – is rising. The building is designed for both residents and businesses to meet and develop in new ways. Behind the large windows, a dynamic content is emerging. Here, libraries, media studios, creative workshops, stages, cafés, meeting rooms, and community services come together under one roof. Together, the activities will form a vibrant cultural house that contributes to a safe and sustainable Valsta.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Sigtuna Municipality's libraries are located in four places: in Märsta, Rosersberg, Sigtuna, and Valsta. By offering literature, information, and creating conditions for good meetings, learning, and creativity, the libraries provide tools for a well-functioning democracy. Through good service, the libraries are safe and welcoming places for everyone.

As a library developer, you are a key person in the development of Sigtuna Municipality's library services for children and youth. You have a central role in coordinating the work and driving development forward, while also contributing with strategic focus in planning and implementing activities and projects. The position involves close collaboration with library management and responsibility for leading the children's and youth library group. Through your engagement, you create conditions for our libraries to be inspiring and relevant meeting places for children and youth. The position is based at Märsta Library, but work at other libraries is included. The activities are conducted every day of the week, and both evening and weekend work are included.

Your role includes:

• providing service, support, and guidance to visitors in our libraries.
• being the convener and leading meetings in the children's and youth library group.
• following developments in children's and youth libraries.
• planning training and educational initiatives.
• formulating and following up on projects related to reading promotion and participation.
• building networks and collaborating with stakeholders in, for example, the municipality, civil society, business, and the region.
• contributing to media strategic work and being part of the library's media group.

QUALIFICATIONS

Through your work, you contribute to strengthening the drive in the workgroup to spark a love for reading, enhance learning, and create participation for children and youth.

We see that you have a degree in library and information science or other education that the employer deems equivalent. We also see that you have relevant experience in planning and implementing activities for children and youth, as well as good knowledge of reading promotion methods and children's and youth's participation. Experience in network building and collaboration with external stakeholders is also a requirement.

You have very good knowledge of children's and youth's media habits and living conditions. You also have high digital competence and a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English. It is an advantage if you have experience in development work or project management within libraries.

Experience in media strategic work and selection of media collections, as well as pedagogical competence and experience in planning and implementing educational initiatives, is advantageous.

We are looking for someone who is structured and goal-oriented, who plans their work well and takes responsibility for completing what they start. You are creative and like to think outside the box to find solutions to challenges. At the same time, you are collaborative, unpretentious, and contribute to a positive and shared focus in the group.
