Sollentuna Parish is located just north of Stockholm and encompasses the entire municipality with approximately 76,000 inhabitants.

Here, there are five churches, three chapels, and three cemeteries. The parish activities are divided into two pastoral areas. The church's music gives voice, presence, and community in a faith that is greater than ourselves. In our parish, there is a rich and broad musical tradition to build upon and continue to develop. Music has a natural place and continues to be renewed to speak to people today.

We are looking for someone who wants to let music in all its forms be a living and sustaining force to spread the gospel – in services, church actions, and in meeting people. We offer you the opportunity to flourish in several musical areas such as choir leadership, concert activities, organ and piano playing, in a church with a heart for worship.

About the position

The tasks are varied with the opportunity to use your gifts and musicality to help develop the parish community. Your primary service will be in the Southern pastoral area based in Kummelby Church and includes, among other things:

• Being responsible for music at services and church actions.
• Being involved in carrying the musical aspect of parish life, devotions, and concerts.
• Leading the Tureberg Church Choir
• Collaborating with other colleagues in the team and with the musicians' college on various types of parish-wide cooperative arrangements.

The position also includes participation in worship services where you are part of the Alpha team. You will be part of building the parish community in Kummelby Church, where there is a rich worship life with well-attended services and many engaged volunteers and a well-singing congregation. The church choir in Tureberg Church (which is the other church in the pastoral area) is an ambitious and wonderfully mixed choir that you will lead.

Qualifications

• Have a church musician degree at least at level C
• Have experience in leading choirs
• Have a good musical breadth and be curious about different genres
• Have a B driver's license and access to a car

We are looking for an engaged and experienced musician who enjoys working both independently and in a team. If you have a heart for worship and volunteers, it may be an advantage.

The position is a permanent employment with a 100 percent employment rate, including day, evening, and weekend work.
