The Education Administration is responsible for all activities within the municipality's preschools, primary schools, adapted primary school, after-school care, high school, and adult education.

In Sigtuna Municipality, school libraries are important. As a school librarian in Sigtuna Municipality, you are never alone but part of a school library community, and at the municipal level, there is a development leader for school libraries. The work is based on the Plan for Library Operations in Sigtuna Municipality's Preschools and Schools 2026-2028. The local work is enriched by central resources such as the Circulation Library and the Multilingual Library. Collaboration is created through collegial exchange and learning in the school librarian group and through municipality-wide activities such as Sigtuna Municipality's annual poetry competition and our school library calendar. The school librarians also run a joint blog, the School Library Blog!

We are now looking for a new school librarian (100%) for our rural schools, Odensala School and Skepptuna School.

Welcome to two smaller F6 schools that actively work to establish the school library as a central pedagogical function in teaching. The schools are in an exciting development phase where structures, working methods, and collaborations with work teams and after-school care are being established. As a school librarian, you will play a key role in shaping this development and contributing to the school's work with media and information literacy (MIK), reading and language development, and quality work. The principal works closely with the school librarian to create good conditions for a sustainable school library operation. RESPONSIBILITIES

As a school librarian, your task is to creatively and systematically make the school library accessible to students and staff. You are also tasked with collaborating with educators to create classroom-related activities to stimulate reading development and language skills, as well as to build students' media and information literacy. You have a particular responsibility to strengthen the school's reading culture and promote students' reading motivation in collaboration with school management and staff. You are expected to meet the diverse needs of students, collaborate with various professional groups within the school, and constantly strive to improve operations within the framework of the school's systematic quality work. Experience in systematically working with reading development is an asset.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent. You are creative, inspire, and think constructively based on conditions and needs. You see the value in and have strategies for building good relationships with both students and staff. You are cooperative and find smooth and unpretentious common paths forward. You can focus on long-term strategic goals while solving situations in an intense everyday environment. Above all, we are looking for someone driven by the ability to positively influence every young person's life. You also need a driver's license and access to a car, as public transport in the area is very limited.
