System Engineer for SMRA at SAAB Aeronautics

SAAB is now looking for a System Engineer for SMRA (Special Mission & Regional Aircraft) at SAAB Aeronautics. The role involves close collaboration with colleagues, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, providing you with the opportunity to develop in a stimulating and innovative environment.

About the Team

The team consists of a mixed group of both recent graduates and more experienced employees, with half having 0–5 years of experience and the other half having longer experience. Several of their recent graduates have completed their theses at SAAB, and many have studied aeronautical engineering or other relevant fields.

About the Role

As a System Engineer within SMRA, you will work on the integration of avionics and mission-specific systems for platforms such as GlobalEye, SAAB 2000 AEW&C, and SAAB 340 AEW. The role encompasses both large platform projects and support for aftermarket and maintenance of delivered systems. You will collaborate closely with other technical areas and have international contacts with suppliers, both digitally and in physical meetings, and travel may be required. At SMRA, you will gain unique insights into the entire product's functionality and the opportunity to contribute to world-leading platforms in surveillance and monitoring.

Examples of Responsibilities:

Create design documentation and modify systems for aircraft with a focus on quality and safety
Plan, execute, and follow up on tests and collaborate during flight tests
Manage requirements from customers and authorities and support certification and airworthiness
Review and provide input on flight and maintenance manuals
Collaborate closely with internal teams and suppliers, both national and international

We believe you have:

A technical education at the university or engineering level in Computer Science or Software Engineering or other relevant education or some years of experience
Swedish citizenship

Meritorious:

Experience in system development, technical leadership, or project work
Experience from the aviation industry
