Software Architect at the Swedish Migration Agency

At the Swedish Migration Agency, we work with one of the major societal issues of our time – migration. We are a total of about 6,000 people here, and we have an unusually important job!

The digitalization of the Migration Agency means that we are fundamentally reshaping the agency's IT environment.

Currently, we are working on overhauling the entire document management and record-keeping processes. We will transition from physical documents to structured and digitized information. We will achieve this through a recently introduced case model and a central service for record-keeping. This is an important task that will affect all operations.

The teams you will be part of work with digitized information – a core component of the Migration Agency's development department. Information flows through all operations, and without it, the Migration Agency stands still. For our remaining teams to take progressive steps in modernization and automation, structured and digitized information is essential. This is the core task for the teams.

We are looking for someone with solid experience who wants to influence and contribute to societal benefit. You can expect extensive work in a varied and operationally close IT environment.

In this role, you will:

• Guide before and during change assignments
• Ensure that changes align with the operational needs and the Migration Agency's vision for IT architecture.
• Be responsible for providing the conditions for teams and employees to deliver solutions that align with the architectural vision
• Help transform the agency's architecture to prepare it for the future.

With us, you will work closely with the nearest development teams and architect colleagues. The Migration Agency has an architecture function that includes software architects, solution architects, and business architects. In addition to architect colleagues, you will also collaborate with project managers, product owners, system developers, testers, operations technicians, managers, administration, controllers, etc. Your points of contact are many, and the network you will build will be extensive.

To qualify for the role of software architect, you need to have:

• An academic degree in IT/computer engineering
• Several years of professional experience in Java development
• Several years of professional experience in Golang development
• Several years of professional experience in React or equivalent frontend frameworks.
• Several years of professional experience in developing microservices in a microservices architecture
• Several years of professional experience with container platforms (Kubernetes / Docker)
• Several years of professional experience in event streaming (Kafka)
• Experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery
• Experience with systems in document management or record-keeping
• Documented experience in leadership in some form
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing, as you need to be able to understand and convey complex information in these languages

Desirable experience includes:

• Certification in architecture
• Documented experience in architectural tasks
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket

The position is classified in a security class. A security check with a background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) will be conducted before a hiring decision – which means a requirement for Swedish citizenship.
