UX/UI Designer at the Swedish Migration Agency

At the Swedish Migration Agency, we work with one of the major societal issues of our time – migration. We are approximately 6,000 people here, and we have an unusually important job!

A creative UX/UI designer, simply put!

At the Swedish Migration Agency, we build systems that are actually used every day by many. We are now looking for a UX designer who wants to help develop socially important IT – using modern technology & design, alongside smart colleagues and with the mandate to make a real impact. This is not a startup (but we do have ping pong tables). This is something better: stability, meaning, and design challenges in one package.

What you will actually do

Welcome to the system and platform development unit 3. Here, junior and senior developers work side by side with requirements analysts and UX designers; developing products for document creation, case management, information governance, and e-archiving, as well as the new area of master data-person.

As a UX designer, you will play an important role – you will determine HOW things should work well for the users.

Examples of tasks you will undertake

• Work with clients, users, and requirements analysts - analyze requirements and needs
• Design audience-adapted solutions - present and test solutions
• Be a central UX support for the team’s developers and deliver designs for implementation

We need you to have

• A university degree in UX/UI design - or equivalent vocational training (KY)
• Good communication skills in spoken and written Swedish.
• Swedish citizenship (required for placement in security class).

Extra plus if you have

• Work experience in UX
• Experience with agile & iterative methods
• Experience working with design systems such as MUI
• Expertise in Figma or similar design tools
• Experience conducting workshops and similar

Curious, analytical, creative, and fearless. You enjoy collaborating, are happy to share your knowledge, and are not afraid to say “we can do this better.” Ideally, you have worked a few years in UX/UI design, but you can also be just starting your career.

About the employment (the formal but important)

The position is classified in a security class. A security review with background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) will be conducted before a hiring decision – which means a requirement for Swedish citizenship.

Location: Norrköping or Linköping
