Role Description

We are looking for an experienced and structured Senior Tester who wants to work in a complex and regulated environment within the banking and finance sector. In this role, you will combine manual testing with test automation and be involved in the entire testing process – from requirements analysis and test design to execution and follow-up. You will work closely with product owners, developers, and business experts to ensure high quality, stable solutions, and deliveries that meet both business and user needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and execute manual tests based on requirements, user flows, and business processes.
• Perform functional testing, regression testing, and integration testing.
• Build, maintain, and further develop automated test suites for API, UI, and regression testing.
• Contribute to test strategy, test methodology, and improvement of testing processes within the team.
• Collaborate with the business side to understand business logic, risk flows, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct API testing and support work with CI/CD pipelines.
• Work with database testing (SQL) and integration testing between systems.
• Report test results, deviations, and improvement suggestions in a clear and structured manner.
• Support the team in establishing “shift-left testing” and a culture of high quality awareness.

Requirements

• 4–8 years of experience in testing within software development.
• At least 2–3 years of experience in test automation.
• Experience from the banking and finance sector or another regulated industry.
• Experience in test automation with one or more tools, e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Postman, or RestAssured.
• Basic programming skills in C#.
• Experience in API testing and working with CI/CD, preferably with Azure DevOps and/or Octopus Deploy.
• Understanding of database testing (SQL) and integration testing.
• Knowledge of version control, e.g., Git.
• Experience working in agile teams.
• Good communication skills and comfortable in dialogue with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented, structured, and quality-conscious, as well as accustomed to working independently and in teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Several years of specific experience in banking, finance, or lending.
• Understanding of concepts such as KYC, AML, PSD2, credit assessment, contract management, or equivalent.
• Experience working in environments with high regulatory requirements and a focus on data quality.
• Experience contributing to or defining test strategies at the team or domain level.
