Workplace Description
You will be located at the Biomedical Center in Lund and formally belong to the research group Experimental Neuroinflammation at the Department of Experimental Medical Sciences at the Faculty of Medicine, which has offices and research facilities at BMC in Lund.
The group consists of a handful of permanent staff (PhD students, postdocs, group leaders, and lab assistants) as well as several students and international guest researchers associated with its activities. Regular lab meetings, Journal Clubs, floor coffee breaks, team building, and retreats contribute to creating a cohesive team and a pleasant atmosphere.

Job Responsibilities and Areas of Responsibility
You will have particular responsibility for planning and executing large international meetings related to new pharmacology. The work will be inherently independent, although you will have collaborators in your role as an expert. This means that the work will involve cooperation within both academia and industry.
Qualifications
You should have extensive experience in both experimental and clinical research, including documented merits in research management and project development.
Requirements for the position are:
- PhD and documented scientific competence in pharmacology, clinical pharmacology, or related medical research fields.
- Solid industrial experience, at least 15–20 years, in senior leadership roles within global drug development (e.g., R&D, clinical development, translational medicine).
- Documented ability to drive strategic initiatives that strengthen and develop an academic subject area, e.g., establishing pharmacology as a subject within the medical faculty.
- Experience in initiating and leading collaboration platforms between academia, industry, healthcare, and innovation environments.
- International work experience from larger pharmaceutical companies and/or research organizations, preferably in multiple countries with a global perspective on research and innovation.
- Well-developed network of internationally leading researchers and industry profiles, as well as documented experience in recruiting and establishing guest professorships or similar academic collaborations.
- Experience in organizing and leading larger scientific meetings, such as international conferences that promote research collaborations and innovation.
- Pedagogical experience and the ability to contribute to education, course development, and implementation of pharmacology in medical programs and other educational programs.
Meritorious for the position are:

- Strong communicative and strategic abilities, including the ability to represent the faculty externally and enhance the visibility of pharmacology and related research nationally and internationally.

The position is a fixed-term employment for one year at 20 percent with a start date of January 1, 2026, or by agreement, but no later than December 31, 2026.
