Seeking Substitute Teachers

Do you have the interest, willingness, and commitment to work with children and youth? Do you enjoy taking responsibility and can you step in at short notice, even if you receive a booking from the school early in the morning?

As a substitute teacher, you will be right in the middle of the operations where it is expected that you are flexible and can quickly familiarize yourself with different routines. The school's first lesson starts around 8:00 AM, which requires you to be available from around 7:30 AM.

Special Needs School

The special needs school is a separate form of education for children and young people with intellectual disabilities. The operations are adapted to the students' individual circumstances but are based on the curriculum for special needs schools. Students receive their education in smaller classes at one of our four schools or integrated into a regular class. In Härryda municipality, there are four special needs schools, two in Mölnlycke and two in Landvetter.

The special needs school aims to provide students with intellectual disabilities an education tailored to each student's circumstances, which, as far as possible, corresponds to that provided in regular schools. It is important to work with a low-arousal approach.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who wants to work at the special needs school in Härryda municipality now until spring 2026. As a person, you are empathetic, engaged, calm, and responsible with a genuine interest in working with children. You are also flexible and can inspire and engage students.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities
  • Very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written
  • Good computer skills
  • Extract from the police criminal record, known as control of own data
  • High school diploma
  • Available to work at least 4-5 days a week, Mon-Fri

Meritorious

  • Experience working with children with disabilities
  • Experience with low-arousal approaches
  • Relevant education for the profession
  • Relevant experience in the profession
  • Several years of work experience

To obtain employment, an extract from the police criminal record must be presented. You can order the criminal record from the police's website. If you are called for an interview, you must bring the criminal record, control of own data, in a sealed envelope.

For this application, you will need to answer a number of selection questions when you apply. Answers to the questions are used as part of the selection process. Your CV and answers to the questions should be formulated in Swedish. Our needs vary, and based on current needs, we will call for interviews.
