Subject Description

The subject of scenic interpretation with a focus on musical dramatic singing encompasses singing instruction within opera.

Responsibilities

The position is placed within the institution of Musical Dramatic Interpretation, but tasks may also occur within other institutions and within the faculty.

Teaching is primarily conducted within the opera programs, at both undergraduate and advanced levels. Teaching may also occur in other programs. Instruction is conducted in Swedish and English.

The main responsibilities consist of singing instruction, both individually and in masterclass form. You need to be able to play the piano for singing students during lessons. As a university lecturer, you are also expected to be proactive in the development of the subject both pedagogically and artistically, including through artistic development work.

Development/research time is included in the employment according to the University of Gothenburg's working time agreement for teachers.

Administrative tasks such as conducting admission tests, study reporting, and working with course syllabi are also included.
