Da Vinciskolan – Close to learning!

At Da Vinciskolan, you will have the chance to work with dedicated and ambitious colleagues and inspiring youth in grades 7 to 9. The school has fantastic facilities in a beautiful building designed by Gert Wingårdh. But the real beauty lies in all the activities happening inside the building. Da Vinciskolan is part of Ale Kulturrum, which also houses the municipal library, a youth center, and Ale Culture School.

Job Responsibilities

As a teacher at Da Vinciskolan, you will conduct modern and creative teaching and find strategies to reach every student and support their knowledge development as well as their personal growth. When there is a desire to learn, it is easy to teach. Therefore, we want you to work with variation in teaching and great engagement so that each student can find their energy.

Together with two colleagues, you will form the subject team in crafts. In the subject team, you will work with collegial learning and collaborate to plan, evaluate, analyze, and improve your teaching based on the school's governing documents and the needs and interests of the students. The school has two well-equipped craft classrooms. The classrooms are adjacent to each other, and as a teacher, you will always have a colleague in the room next door.

With us, you are both a subject teacher and a mentor for a class together with one of your colleagues, and you will be part of one of the three teams at the school. The responsibility as a mentor involves, in addition to individual student responsibility, a willingness and ability to create a good cohesion in the class you and your mentor colleague are responsible for. You will collaborate with other school staff to ensure a good learning and working environment for both students and staff and participate in the school's development work.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher in crafts. We would like you to be able to teach both textile and wood and metal crafts. Qualification in another subject is an advantage.

We are interested in you who have high ambitions in your teaching career and who are eager to work towards common goals and visions. You are a team player who enjoys collaboration and a student democratic approach. You have a good ability to create and maintain relationships with both children, youth, and adults, and understand the importance of meeting students with both structure and support.

You are clear in your leadership and confident in your professional role towards students, guardians, and colleagues. You reflect on methods and approaches and strive to develop as a teacher. You also have good experience and knowledge of working with relevant digital tools.

You have a good insight into and knowledge of the school's governing documents and can effectively use them in your daily work. Furthermore, you have good didactic and pedagogical skills and can lead and organize your work to create a peaceful study environment and a good learning atmosphere for our students throughout their school day.
