SiS Youth Home Fagared receives non-compulsory school boys with psychosocial problems, criminality, and substance abuse. We have departments in Lindome, Öxnevalla, and Gothenburg.

Job Description

We are looking for a temporary career and study advisor who wants to make a life-changing difference - are you the one we are looking for?

For us, the role of career and study advisor is important based on the students we work with who need knowledge about future professions and career choices. A few have previously had contact with a career advisor and have limited knowledge of the opportunities available in the job market. Therefore, internships and APL become particularly important and part of your assignment. We want our youth to become aware of their own talents and strengths and gain the competence and knowledge to make well-founded choices for their further studies or work.

In your role, you will conduct motivating guidance conversations both individually and in groups, maintain external contacts within the labor market, and be part of the transition process. This means being involved in the process and creating opportunities for the youth to adapt to society with contacts that are beneficial for the youth and their future careers. You will work closely with our teachers and treatment staff, with a particular focus on motivation and guidance. As a career and study advisor at SiS Fagared Youth Home, you will also be part of the EHT team. In short, it is part of your assignment to be the spider in the web between school/treatment and the student's future goals. It is a challenge but an incredibly interesting job!

Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of humanity and the ability to handle conflicts constructively.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a good view of students - where the equal value of all people is a given, and that you have cultural awareness, global orientation, innovative thinking, and a clear student focus are key words you are expected to help realize in daily work. You also have pedagogical insight - where you have a good understanding of the school's goals and governing documents as well as an empathetic ability. You are relationship-building and realize that relationships are the foundation for the student's development and lay the groundwork for coaching the student. You have good collaboration skills while also being able to work independently, structured, and take your own initiatives. As a person, you are also persistent and do not give up easily but believe in the youth and their abilities to succeed in their learning and treatment, so that the youth will succeed in the future.

Requirements:

• University degree as a career and study advisor
• Personal maturity, integrity, and being clear and stable
• Driver's license B

It is an advantage if you have previous experience working as a career and study advisor and experience in youth care.

Employment:

The position is a temporary contract for one year with up to 50%. Start date by agreement.
