Project Manager for Regional Development

Region Gävleborg has a government assignment to manage the work of regional development in the county. The vision is an open, innovative, and sustainable Gävleborg, which we achieve through collaboration with community actors at local, regional, and national levels.

We are now looking for you who, together with us in the regional development administration, want to contribute to strengthening and developing Gävleborg County. We are about 60 employees organized into three departments, and you will be placed in the department responsible for skills supply and business development.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The department currently runs several projects aimed at developing methods, working practices, and collaboration forms that help people who are far from the labor market come closer to employment. These initiatives often take place in collaboration with the county's municipalities and target particularly vulnerable groups.

As a project manager with us, you will among other things:

• initiate, plan, and coordinate a specific project and its efforts
• collaborate locally, regionally, nationally, and in some cases internationally to strengthen development work
• analyze and communicate statistics and reports as a basis for decisions and development efforts
• communicate and disseminate the results of development work
• act as expert support in regional development and contribute to development processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is structured, flexible, and has a good overall view in your assignment. You easily adapt to changing circumstances, see opportunities for development, and work solution-focused. You thrive in collaboration with others but also take responsibility for independent tasks. The role requires you to plan, prioritize, and follow up on work in a methodical and efficient manner. You have a good ability to build and maintain relationships and understand the importance of networks to drive development work.

In the role of project manager, you should have:

• relevant academic education or equivalent professional experience
• experience working in a politically governed organization and public administration
• good knowledge of regional development work and sustainability
• good knowledge of and experience working with projects funded by the European Social Fund
• good ability to communicate verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.

For this position, it is an advantage if you have a B driver's license as travel is required in the job, mainly within the county.
