Consultant Request – Specialist in Facilitating Exploratory Pre-Study

Theme: Attractive Sustainable Workplaces

We are looking for an experienced and confident facilitator/workshop leader for a consulting assignment to plan, lead, and document the workshop work in an exploratory pre-study in the area of Attractive Sustainable Workplaces at the regional level.

The pre-study aims to create a shared understanding of the knowledge area together with stakeholders and select focus areas to work on in a forthcoming implementation project targeting small and medium-sized enterprises.

The purpose of the assignment is to explore challenges and opportunities related to developing attractive and sustainable workplaces together with various stakeholders and actors in the region. The pre-study focuses on social sustainability, inclusion, gender equality, and equity, and will result in recommendations for continued development work.

Consultant's (Role) Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare workshops (pre-work), including purpose, agenda, and method selection.
  • Lead 3–5 creative and inclusive workshops with broad representation of stakeholders (e.g., municipalities, employers, unions, educational actors, business promoters, incubators, companies in skills supply, and regional development functions).
  • Document results, insights, and proposals for further work (post-work).
  • Ensure that sustainability permeates the process and that different perspectives on inclusion and equity are considered.
  • Contribute to creating a safe environment where all participants feel seen and heard, and where creativity and engagement are encouraged.

Desired Competence Profile

  • Solid experience in leading and facilitating workshops with many and diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with processes that promote inclusion, gender equality, and equity in development work.
  • Experience working with sustainability issues as an integrated perspective is desirable.
  • Ability to quickly understand and analyze issues affecting an entire region rather than individual companies or organizations.
  • Familiarity with education levels, labor market, and development issues at the regional level is an advantage.

Scope and Setup

  • Pre-work: planning and development of workshop setup.
  • Implementation: 3–5 workshops.
  • Post-work: compilation and documentation of results.
  • Time period: as agreed within the framework of the pre-study.

Scope 

The assignment/pre-study runs from September 2024 to May 2026.

Other

The assignment is initially a project employment with Everlight Consulting AB or a consulting contract. 

Placement within Gävleborg is desirable but not a requirement. Parts of the assignment can be performed remotely.
