Personal assistance is a needs-assessed support that exists for people with disabilities, enabling them to participate in society and live an independent life as much as possible. The service is part of the care and support sector in Skövde municipality.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a new employee for a young man who is moving out of home.

We are looking for someone who wants an exciting and developing job. In the role of personal assistant, you have the opportunity to contribute to the quality of life for our users. Our work is based on our guiding principles of safety, responsibility, and respectful treatment, and you are a significant part of the user's well-being. You work carefully and professionally with the users, both in and outside their home environment, in collaboration with others in the work team. This also means working for good cooperation with other professional groups and relatives.

As a personal assistant, you start from the user's individual needs, wishes, and implementation plan to best support and help the individual achieve the highest possible quality of life in their daily life. The work also includes service tasks, such as preparing simple meals, washing dishes, laundry, and cleaning. You assist the user with mobility and personal hygiene. You work with clear pedagogical methods and established routines. The assignment also includes performing delegated and prescribed healthcare tasks according to the Health and Medical Services Act (HSL). Documentation in our systems is also an important part of the job.

Within the care and support sector, we work flexibly between different units. This means that you may also need to work shifts at other workplaces within the sector.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a high school education and passing grades from the health and care program or the child and leisure program, or other equivalent education. We prefer that you have post-secondary education in a relevant field for the position, such as personal assistant training or treatment assistant training. It is a plus (but not a requirement) if you have experience working with mental or physical disabilities and/or experience working according to the Individual's Needs in Focus (IBIC). Experience with delegated tasks, clear pedagogical methods, low-arousal responses, and alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) and experience in medical care are also meritorious.

As a person, you are calm and secure, have a respectful, good, and adapted approach, and find it easy to build relationships. You are a service-oriented person who puts the individual's needs at the center. To succeed in the role, we see that you are good at collaborating with colleagues, users, relatives, and other partners both within and outside your own organization. You are solution-focused and can easily adapt to new conditions. To thrive in the role, you need to be proactive, take responsibility in your professional role, and be used to working independently.

To work with us, you need a B driver's license for a manual transmission vehicle.

In this role, it is important that you can communicate verbally and in writing in Swedish since you and the user need to understand each other, but also to carry out documentation. You are computer literate and preferably have experience with documentation in journal systems.
