Do you want to make a difference as a support assistant in daily activities?

We offer you a meaningful job where your contribution is important for our participants' development.

About the organization

Hundraårsgatans Café & Servicegrupp is located in Kortedala and is a daily activity according to LSS (the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons). The organization targets individuals with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities.

At Hundraårsgatan, we run both café and service operations. In the café, we offer coffee and sandwiches, and together with the participants, we bake bread, buns, and cookies, as well as handle conference orders. The café is part of a meeting place for seniors, but the general public is also warmly welcome.

Our service group performs practical tasks for other organizations both in the building and in the surrounding area. This can involve setting up break rooms, delivering goods, watering plants, keeping premises tidy, or performing other service tasks based on needs.

We work to ensure that each participant has a day that is meaningful, developing, and tailored to individual conditions and interests.

Your role as a support assistant

As a support assistant, you are responsible for supporting participants in their activities and contributing to ensuring they have a meaningful and safe day in the organization. You work to create conditions for participation, independence, and community with a focus on each participant's individual needs and goals. Your tasks are adapted to the participants' needs and conditions. You guide and support in both individual and group activities, motivate and encourage participation and development, and create structure in everyday life. You work practically alongside the participants in the activities offered in the organization.

The work is done closely with other support assistants and support pedagogues in an engaged and collaborative team, in cooperation with the unit manager. Together, you plan, implement, and follow up on activities based on the participants' resources, interests, and goals. As contact personnel for one or more participants, you are responsible for establishing and following up on implementation plans, creating work plans and routines, and documenting in Treserva.

If necessary, the support assistant also works in other daily activities within the area of operations.

Working hours are scheduled during the day, Monday to Friday.

About you

You who are applying have either a degree from the Health and Care Program, the Child and Leisure Program with a focus on social and pedagogical work, or a support assistant education. You may also have training in restaurant and service. The education should include courses in, for example, behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, or (psychiatric) care, or other education deemed equivalent.

For all educational paths, a passing grade in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1 is required. If this is missing, you may be offered to take a language test via the test user Educateit.

It is a requirement to have experience working with individuals with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities, as well as good computer skills and knowledge of social documentation. Knowledge and experience of low-arousal responses, alternative and augmentative communication, clarifying pedagogy, sign language support, independent living, and IBIC are also required.

Experience in care and support work, as well as experience in mentoring others in restaurant, café, and/or service operations, is meritorious.

You who are applying are calm and stable even under pressure, take responsibility for both your own and the group's tasks, and make thoughtful decisions. With a positive and solution-focused approach, you address the needs of those we are here for and work diligently to create good results.
