Job Advertisement: Teacher at Järfälla Culture School

Järfälla Culture School is a unit within the Department of Culture, Democracy, and Leisure that offers courses for children and youth in their free time. We are a dynamic workplace with over 40 dedicated, competent, and creative employees teaching in visual arts, dance, film and media, various music subjects and orchestras, new circus, as well as theater/drama. The administration includes a department head, two unit managers, a coordinator, and a communicator. We have our own facilities in all municipal areas and centrally in Jakobsberg as well as in Bas Barkarby. Many of our facilities are newly renovated or newly built and adapted for the approximately 1500 students in our course activities. We also have commissioned activities (adapted school, daily activities, preschool and school, senior activities) and open activities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a teacher at the culture school, you are an important person for many children and youth in their free time, in both term courses and open activities as well as short/vacation courses. You have an open and curious approach and are inclusive in your working methods. In this way, you contribute to a good working environment for the participants and colleagues of the culture school. You see collaboration as a natural part of your work.

• Teaching - plan, implement, evaluate, create good conditions for learning, tailor materials for individuals and groups, prepare and follow up, plan and carry out various events in collaboration with others internally and externally. Teaching both individually and in groups. Provide young people with tools for participation and influence during lessons.
• Administration - invitations, scheduling in consultation with the unit manager, participant and parent contacts.
• Leadership - arrange and carry out outreach activities, participate in joint organizational development with other colleagues based on set goals, and have a diversity and accessibility perspective.
• Professional Development - responsible for maintaining your own artistic practice.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a pedagogical education from a music academy or equivalent and experience in teaching. Teaching tests may be applied during the selection of applicants.

You have good subject knowledge in both technique and genre breadth. You accompany your students on piano. Sometimes you lead a choir by yourself and sometimes together with a colleague. You have baby rhythmics together with a colleague. You are responsible for the singing part in the musical subject where there is a theater pedagogue responsible.

You are self-sufficient and take responsibility for structuring your work. You have good collaboration skills, are communicative, and attentive. You participate actively in joint tasks.

You have an equal approach and treat everyone equally, acting to promote equal treatment regarding resources, opportunities, and accessibility.
