The preschool is located in a picturesque area on the outskirts of Virserum, close to forest, lake, and community. The preschool works towards the vision of the Arena of Opportunities, where preschool teachers, childcare workers, and other staff create opportunities for children to feel and act for a belief in the future. The preschool is a democratic meeting place for everyone, both children and adults. Important concepts/areas for us are play, democracy, and 100 languages. The preschool has taken a stand to work project-based with pedagogical documentation as a tool to make children's learning processes visible.

We are organized into two teams, Safiren/Smaragden (1-3 years), and Diamanten/Kristallen (4-5 years). The staff works in larger teams with shared responsibility for the children, but the children are divided into smaller groups for most of the day. We believe that when children are in smaller groups, they can thrive. They have the opportunity to have their voices heard and thus influence the processes moving forward. What we teach today should influence what we teach tomorrow! At the preschool, new thoughts and ideas can emerge, and children, together with adults, can explore all possible hypotheses about a sustainable future.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a preschool teacher at Evahagen Preschool, you are responsible for the education and teaching as a whole. You will work together with your preschool teacher colleagues to develop the education at Evahagen Preschool. All preschool teachers share a common responsibility for organizing the education to work project-based with pedagogical documentation as a tool.

You will be part of a pedagogical development group together with other preschool teachers in the unit, where the overarching purpose is to develop the education at Evahagen Preschool. You will have reflection time with your colleagues in the team, as well as some individual reflection time from Tuesday to Thursday.

In daily work, pedagogical documentation and reflection are a natural part of the process to systematically ensure the quality of education. In your work at the preschool, you implement the intentions of the curriculum, which becomes clear in your teaching with the children. You start from the children's interests, curiosity, and initiatives and translate that into goal-oriented processes where children's learning is the focus. You design learning environments that are accessible to all children and that inspire and encourage children's curiosity, creativity, and interest.

Children's influence and participation play a central role in the work, which means that you, together with the children and colleagues, reflect and analyze learning processes, working methods, and educators' approaches. In your approach, you dare to try new methods and tools together with children and colleagues.

We see personal development as an important part of the preschool's development area, to inspire and be inspired by colleagues. We highly value collaborative work to increase equity among all preschools in the municipality. The preschools in Hultsfred Municipality have two special educators for guidance and support in working with children. The special educators' task is to work preventively and promote well-being. All preschools and schools in Hultsfred Municipality have access to Imaginarium.

In the municipality, there is a pedagogical developer for preschools who, in their role, guides and creates understanding among colleagues to improve the quality of education and create good conditions for children's influence over their own learning.
