The focus of the position is on teaching singing, but other subjects are also included, depending on your musical profile and other competencies.

This is a part-time or full-time position with a probationary period. You will have a holiday service, which means that the average weekly working hours are 43 hours and the teaching obligation is 16 hours/week during the terms. The position includes teaching at the folk high school's summer courses. Work on weekends and evenings may occur in connection with projects and concerts. Examples of subjects that a singing teacher teaches include singing, vocal ensemble, group singing, choir, choir conducting, voice care, practical piano, ear training, and music theory.

We are looking for someone who:

• Can teach singing across a wide spectrum, from complete beginners to advanced musicians. The students currently receiving singing lessons from the school's teachers are between 18 and 60 years old.
• Has a broad genre range, as there are singing students in all our specializations (classical, genre-broad singing, jazz, and church music).
• Can teach both individually and in groups or classes.
• Has extensive experience accompanying singing students on the piano.
• Has a teaching degree with singing as the main subject from a music academy and a breadth in your musical knowledge.
• Understands and can manage the social-pedagogical aspects of the teaching role, such as mentorship.
• Is used to collaborating in larger and smaller constellations.

Oskarshamn Folk High School has several different music education programs with a capacity for about 50 course participants. The teachers in these programs form a joint working team of 8 people who are permanently employed. In addition, there are some hourly teachers. Parts of the teaching are cross-disciplinary, which means that all teachers meet course participants from different lines.

The ongoing work is led by the education leader, and your manager will be the school's principal. Teaching here means that in addition to your own lessons, you are expected to be part of the joint work with applications, marketing, concert activities, and development work. Schedule-breaking events such as theme days, trips, or outdoor days are part of your work.

The position is a permanent employment in the form of a holiday service with a start date of VT25.

Oskarshamn Folk High School is a foundation and the operation is managed by the Diocese of Växjö. Here you will find, among other things, a General Line with various specializations, Music Line, Preparatory Church Music Education, Church Music Education full-time, part-time, and distance, Nursing Assistant Education, Church's Basic Course, and Senior Courses. The school has a public lunch restaurant, extensive conference activities, and a hostel. There are about 40 employees in total. In Oskarshamn, there is a culture school, an aesthetic high school, a jazz and chamber music association, and the Regional Music with, among others, the professional string orchestra Camerata Nordica.
