We are now looking for an engaged support educator for one of our group homes within functional support. We aim to build teams characterized by innovation and action, where we collaborate as a team to achieve good results and high quality. Your tasks

As a support educator, you work together with support assistants directly with users who may have intellectual disabilities and/or neuropsychiatric diagnoses, varying interests, and ages. The focus of the work with users is to support and create a daily life that provides each individual with a meaningful, manageable, and comprehensible existence.

The approach towards users is based on a low-arousal response, where the focus is on creating value by meeting the individual in a professional manner, communicating with respect for the user's self-determination and personal integrity, and working with clear pedagogical methods.

The support educator is responsible for assisting colleagues in establishing users' implementation plans, driving the work forward, ensuring that the implementation plans are followed, evaluated, and developed according to the user's needs. Another part of the job involves having a good overview and being a reliable support to colleagues by ensuring that established, decided, and appropriate routines are documented, followed, and updated.

You will be responsible for, among other things:

• the development of the methods used in the service
• providing support and methodological guidance in daily work
• working based on assignments from the management team
• being involved in the development within Support and Care
• actively participating in the internal support educator network.

About you

We are looking for someone with relevant education as a support educator with advanced courses in disabilities. It is advantageous if you have training in Independent Living (ESL), Motivational Interviewing (MI), PERMA, and low-arousal responses.

You take great responsibility for your and the shared tasks with the focus on the best for the service and users. You show respect and consideration for those you meet in your professional role and create a good atmosphere in interactions. In your work, you are used to taking significant responsibility, distinguishing between the personal and professional, and adapting your approach to the situation. You can discuss reflectively with your colleagues and other professionals you collaborate with to create a common approach based on each situation.

The new social services act means that services such as functional support and social psychiatry face many new challenges where you, as a support educator, have a significant role alongside colleagues. Working preventively, promoting health, and always having the user's needs at the center are important factors for you as an applicant. We are looking for someone who is highly flexible regarding tasks, working hours, and changes in the service.

In Orust municipality, we apply full-time as the norm, which means you will receive a full-time position. This may involve you, as an employee, doing resource shifts in other units than the one you are hired for.

Working hours/duration: Full-time, permanent. A schedule of 8 weeks with varied working hours including days, evenings, and every other weekend.

Salary: Individual salary setting
