We are looking for foster homes!

Lysekil municipality is now seeking engaged and secure families who, on behalf of the social services, want to make a significant contribution to children and young people in need of placement outside their home in a loving and stable environment.

What does it mean to be a foster home?

As a foster home, you offer one or more children, young people a safe home environment. Your role is to create a safe and stable environment where the child/children can feel secure and cared for. Being a foster home requires flexibility, empathy, and a strong desire to help children in vulnerable situations. You become an important part of a process where the child's needs are prioritized. As a contracted foster home, you receive compensation and fees.

Activities and support for our foster homes

We value participation and further education, and we appreciate close dialogue and collaboration regarding the children, which is why we prefer our own contracted foster homes instead of consultant-supported ones. Over the past year, we have developed the foster home work and now arrange meetings for our foster homes at Nordens Ark and Liseberg, as well as regularly organizing lectures. We offer activities and guidance tailored to your needs and wishes.

Who can become a foster home?

• You should have a secure and stable family situation.
• Previous experience with children, such as having your own children or working in childcare, is an advantage but not a requirement.
• You need to have space both in your home and in your heart to welcome a child in need of support.
• You have a willingness to collaborate with social services and other involved parties. You have the opportunity to be home full-time.
• We are now looking for foster homes in Lysekil or neighboring municipalities to facilitate collaboration and enable quick intervention when needed.
