About the Job

Are you ready to make a difference in foster care? We are now looking for child secretaries for two of our placement units in Nordost.

As a child secretary, you have authority and actively work to plan and follow up on the care of placed children. You will have continuous contact with children and young people (0-21 years) in foster homes or HVB, primarily by regularly visiting them where they are placed. You collaborate closely with their parents, foster homes, networks, schools, and other partners. You continuously evaluate the children's needs and make assessments on how care should be best implemented. We use proven and research-based methods to ensure the quality of the work. You work in a team with foster care secretaries around each child and their foster home. We also work with Skolfam, which is an evidence-based method, where we have psychologists and special educators with us, who strengthen us in our work to ensure that children have the best possible schooling.

Our starting point is to make the child as involved as possible in their care, so they can be competent actors in their own lives. We solve many difficult situations with high quality through collaboration and a structured approach. The work is versatile and can be demanding at times, but it is also incredibly rewarding and gives us a lot back. We have a strong team spirit and an open climate where we appreciate and support each other. To facilitate your work as a child secretary, we also have support from a social administrator and a visitation coordinator. This frees up time for you to focus on your core tasks.

You will have the opportunity for regular method supervision, both individually and in groups, and we have a health inspirer and well-being group working to ensure a positive work environment. You are offered ongoing training in the various methods we use. Evening work occurs, but we also offer flexibility in working hours and the possibility of remote work to facilitate a balance between work and private life.

Qualifications

To apply for the position, you need to have:

• A degree in social work
• Good knowledge of child development
• Knowledge of legislation in the area of social child welfare
• A valid driver's license (B)

In addition to the above requirements, it is also meritorious if you have:

• At least two years of experience in authority and social work with children and youth
• Good knowledge of BBIC
• Training and experience in child conversations
• Familiarity with our local area and the specific challenges that may exist in Nordost

To succeed in the position, you need to have a clear child perspective, good ability to collaborate, and can adapt your communication according to the recipient and situation. To maintain legally secure documentation, you need to be meticulous and structured, as well as have a very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish. Furthermore, you use time efficiently, work systematically, organized, and methodically, and can restructure in acute situations and have the ability to make independent decisions within the framework of your assignment.

The Social Administration Nordost works to provide residents in northeastern Gothenburg with equal and effective welfare with the opportunity to live safe and independent lives. The administration provides support to individuals and families according to the Social Services Act.
