We are looking for a Harvesting Leader for the Norrbotniabanan at the Swedish Transport Administration.

This is a multi-year consulting assignment.

The position is full-time.

The assignment can be performed in Luleå, Skellefteå, or Umeå.

The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which places high demands on flexibility and teamwork.

The Assignment

The role of the harvesting leader involves acting as a consultant in project planning and construction management for the Norrbotniabanan. The consultant works as a resource reinforcement in the client's project organization with responsibility for harvesting and reforestation, preparation of tender documents, and management and coordination of contracts. The role also includes transferring knowledge to the employees of the Swedish Transport Administration and participating in project planning and follow-up.

Responsibilities

Lead, manage, coordinate, and follow up on the harvesting work in the program concerning time, cost, and content, and report to the project manager.

Be an expert in harvesting issues and administer these.

Lead relevant meetings internally and externally.

Ensure that all necessary approvals and permits are obtained.

Develop and update an overview of harvesting planning in collaboration with the project and specialists (e.g., land negotiators).

Be responsible for preparing tender documents for harvesting contracts and assist in procurement.

Coordinate the sale of harvested timber and act as the contact person for forestry companies.

Initiate procurement for the designation of harvesting areas and lead the construction manager for harvesting.

Represent the Swedish Transport Administration towards contractors and external stakeholders, including managing time, cost, and content.

Be responsible for invoice control certificates and risk management for contracts.

Ensure occupational health and safety requirements during the construction phase with the support of an occupational health specialist.

Inventory and document damages in the field, perform forest valuation, and plan and carry out reforestation.

Requirements (Mandatory)

Ability to express oneself well in Swedish both verbally and in writing. Degree from a university or equivalent education, or professional experience deemed equivalent by the Swedish Transport Administration. Documented knowledge/experience of harvesting issues in larger infrastructure projects. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a leading position, e.g., as a supervisor, project manager, or equivalent roles. Documented knowledge/experience in performing forest valuation. Documented education/experience in contract law (AB/ABT). B driver's license.

Meritorious 

Extensive experience in planning and leading harvesting contracts for a public client. Understanding of one's role and the ability to implement it according to the wishes of the Swedish Transport Administration. High communication and collaboration skills.

Documented training in BAS-P/BAS-U and the client's occupational health responsibility.
