Your Mission

As department head, you belong to the cyber operations department. The department conducts signal intelligence in defense intelligence operations. The department also contributes to strengthening the protection against qualified IT attacks from abroad on the most critical operations in Sweden. Furthermore, the department is responsible for tasks in the field of cryptology and secure cryptographic functions.

In the role of department head, you have operational responsibility for the cyber department and report directly to the agency's director-general. You have the following areas of responsibility:

• Personnel responsibility for the department's office managers
• Cost and budget responsibility for the department
• Management of the department's work (responsibility for operations, personnel, and budget)
• Participate in the agency's management group and assist the agency leadership in leading the organization as a whole
• Strategic further development of the operations
• Leadership and further development of the department's managers
• Ensuring the department's competence supply

Travel both domestically and internationally may occur in the position.

You Can

We are looking for someone who has:

• Relevant academic education or equivalent
• Several years of experience as a proven good manager and leader in a managerial position
• Experience in leading through other managers
• Experience in change and development work in a leading position
• Experience in intelligence operations
• Experience working in a government agency
• Ability to work strategically with competence supply
• Ability to represent the agency in a credible manner
• Very good knowledge of Swedish and English

We consider it an advantage if you have:

• Experience in working with cybersecurity issues
• Good knowledge of public administration and its decision-making processes
• Good knowledge of defense and security policy issues
• Understanding of relevant private sector operations

More Information

The workplace is located near Drottningholm, about 10 minutes from Brommaplan. Swedish citizenship is a requirement as employment at FRA involves placement in a security class. A requirement for employment is a successful security screening with a background check. The security screening will be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Security Protection Act.
