Underwriter at the Swedish Export Credit Agency
Do you want to contribute to Swedish exports and work with business in an international environment? As an Underwriter, you will combine analysis with customer responsibility – and help Swedish companies grow globally!
We offer you
As an employee at the Export Credit Agency, you contribute to our mission to promote Swedish exports and the internationalization of Swedish companies.
This is a workplace with socially important and developing tasks in a global environment. At EKN, you will have the opportunity to develop, be challenged, and contribute with your expertise.
Our work climate is characterized by engagement and customer focus. Here you will be welcomed by 170 experienced colleagues, driven by enabling more secure export deals and making difficult markets accessible for Swedish companies.
Our offices are centrally located. Please read more about our offerings (https://www.ekn.se/om-ekn/jobba-hos-oss/vi-erbjuder-dig/).
Your future tasks
EKN insures Swedish companies and banks against the risk of non-payment in connection with exports and lending. As an underwriter, you will work in a business-oriented role with exciting and important export deals. In this role, you will have your own customer responsibility and daily contact with Swedish export companies and banks, as well as foreign companies and banks. The role involves handling applications for export guarantees, assessing risks, setting prices and other conditions, and presenting proposals for decisions.
The work is characterized by international business that requires quick decisions. As an underwriter, you are responsible for the deals you work with from the first customer contact to the issuance of guarantees. You will also be involved in EKN's loss prevention work if problems arise in the deal. In this role, you will closely collaborate with other colleagues, such as lawyers and country analysts. The position involves some travel within Sweden and abroad.

Your future team
The SME and Midcorp business area works with companies across the country that have a turnover of up to 5 billion SEK. Here you will find a variety of industries, several markets, and deals with varying complexity and timelines.
You will be part of a team of about 40 colleagues, distributed across five locations. Together we help each other, share knowledge, and it is natural for us to discuss both customer cases and market development.
Your background
We are looking for someone with an academic degree in economics, preferably in financing, auditing, or accounting. You have a couple of years of experience working with financing issues and/or credit assessment, preferably from a bank, finance company, export company, or credit insurance company. Additionally, it is advantageous if you have experience with customer relations and corporate financing.
Characteristics
We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in international business, export financing, and financial analysis. As an Underwriter, you will have many points of contact, and it is important that you establish trust. You need to be analytical, structured, and have good problem-solving skills. Furthermore, you see the big picture, take responsibility, and follow up on tasks and processes within your area of responsibility. Seeing opportunities instead of obstacles comes naturally to you, and you have the ability to adapt to new situations.
