The dental surgery unit (VE) is part of the specialized surgery department at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) and currently operates in Lund, Malmö, Helsingborg, and Kristianstad. We are a regional organization and together we drive and develop dental surgical activities across the entire specialty's care panorama. This provides us with a varied and educational work environment.

We have a catchment area of patients from the entire southern healthcare region. Additionally, we are connected to the regional cancer center where patients undergo both treatment and rehabilitation. Furthermore, we specialize in advanced jaw joint surgery and are also Sweden's largest orthognathic surgical center. We focus on the quality of care for our patients, ensuring they feel safe and well-prepared both before and after surgery. In addition to elective procedures, we also handle a flow of acute patients, such as jaw and facial fractures and odontogenic infections.

Our unit continuously works to develop our competence within the organization. We are at the forefront of dental surgical practices and are building knowledge about new technologies, such as 3D planning for orthognathic surgery. The dental surgery section has been regionally integrated since September 1, 2014, with operations in Lund, Helsingborg, and Kristianstad.

With extensive knowledge, experience, and competence, we ensure that patients receive the best care. Our team includes dental surgeons, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, orthodontic assistants, surgical dental nurses, nursing assistants, receptionists, and medical secretaries.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We welcome you as a dental nurse to join us at Dental Surgery Skåne, located in Lund. In the role of surgical dental nurse, you will assist our dental surgeons during various procedures both in the clinic, our outpatient surgical department, and in the main operating room. If you are a newly graduated dental nurse, you will receive a mentor who will support you.

Working hours are scheduled from Monday to Wednesday between 07:30 and 17:00, Thursday between 07:30 and 16:00, and Friday between 07:30 and 12:30. We have on-call duty around the clock, so the position of surgical dental nurse includes being part of this on-call duty.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a qualified dental nurse with a strong interest in dental surgery. You should also have good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written. Having surgical dental nurse training or experience in dental surgical operations is an advantage. Previous experience in general or specialized dental care is also advantageous.
