Are you analytical and structured and want to contribute to the government's work on nature conservation and biodiversity? Then we can offer a developing job that contributes to environmental work and societal development. The Nature Environment Unit works with biodiversity, nature conservation, seas, water, and outdoor life. The unit's responsibilities are broad and include a large number of Sweden's environmental goals. We are now looking for a person who can strengthen and contribute to the development of the Nature Environment Unit's work, especially in nature conservation and biodiversity.

As an employee at the Nature Environment Unit, you will work in a team with experienced colleagues. Your work will include preparing and providing materials for the government's work and representing the government in national, EU, and international contexts. Examples of tasks may relate to the protection of valuable natural areas, wetlands, nature restoration, and monitoring and development of the environmental goal system. The work may also include other tasks within the unit's area of responsibility.

Your role also includes participating in various processes to develop and implement the government's policy focusing on nature conservation and biodiversity. Your work will include driving the unit's issues, preparing government matters, providing materials to the political leadership, and contributing expertise in the field. The work is done in collaboration within the unit and with other units and departments. Travel in service may be required.

Your Background

We are looking for someone with a relevant academic education for the position, as well as several years of current experience in nature conservation and biodiversity. You should also have the ability to express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English. If you also have experience from the Government Offices or another government agency, experience in negotiations on nature conservation and biodiversity issues at the national, EU, or international level, and knowledge of Swedish public administration, we consider this an advantage.

The employment is a permanent position, starting with a six-month probationary period. A security clearance will be conducted before a hiring decision is made.
