Description

As one of our employees moves on to another position, we are looking for you with a genuine interest in social work with adults who want to be part of the Economic Assistance and Counseling rehabilitation team.

The work with economic assistance is conducted according to a method focused on supporting individuals to achieve self-sufficiency through work or studies. This means that most people applying for economic assistance are referred to the Employment Unit, where a coach, together with the participant, develops a plan with appropriate measures towards self-sufficiency.

Those working with economic assistance are divided into three teams: a rehabilitation team, a reception team, and a ongoing assistance team. The rehabilitation team handles cases where work-oriented rehabilitation is not applicable for medical and/or social reasons, as well as newcomers assigned to our municipality who need economic assistance before they can start their establishment compensation. The rehabilitation team also, together with the Reception Team, has on-call duty and handles urgent issues that arise.

Economic Assistance and Counseling is responsible for processing economic assistance and coordinating parts of the Social Welfare Sector's work with housing issues. The unit also includes responsibility for the Social Welfare Sector's reception on Fiskaregatan and the municipality's budget and debt counseling, which also provides services to the municipalities of Götene, Skara, and Grästorp under agreement.

Job Responsibilities

The work as a social worker in the Rehabilitation Team consists of assessing the need for economic assistance. This means investigating, assessing, deciding, and implementing according to applicable legislation and guidelines. It also involves supporting applicants to achieve self-sufficiency by creating an individual plan with appropriate measures together with the individual.

Collaboration with other actors is an important part of the work to support the individual towards the goal of self-sufficiency. As a social worker in the Rehabilitation Team, you are responsible for initiating, coordinating, and following up contacts with other actors from whom the individual needs support to achieve self-sufficiency, such as addiction care, healthcare, or the Social Insurance Agency. If necessary, social workers in the Rehabilitation Team may step into the Reception Team and handle new visits and applications with urgent assistance needs.

Qualifications

A degree in social work or another at least three-year higher education that the employer considers equivalent. Experience in working with economic assistance and experience working with people in vulnerable situations is meritorious.

We expect you to be an empathetic and secure person with very good personal maturity and collaboration skills, and that you contribute to a good working atmosphere. You should be interested in working based on the individual's own possibilities and resources and contribute to developing the operations through your engagement. You are flexible, able to work independently, and have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

A valid driver's license (B) is required for the position.
