We are looking for a support educator or social educator for the Day Center!

In Åtvidaberg Municipality, we provide support services to ensure that children, youth, and adults receive the assistance and help they need. The support aims to provide good living conditions for individuals in our group homes, daily activities, short-term stays for children and youth, and personal assistance. The services are provided according to the Act on Support and Special Services for Certain Disabled Persons (LSS).

Within social psychiatry, we provide support in the form of housing support, accommodation, and daily activities for individuals with mental disabilities. The support aims to help individuals increase their independence and influence their life situation. The goal of the operation is for participants at the Day Center to develop and have meaningful activities.

Your responsibilities

The work involves being a resource to enhance the pedagogical approach that supports individual participation and independence.

In this role, you will work together with your colleagues to provide support, service, and care. You will have primary responsibility for one group but will be part of several. We currently have the Little Group, Textile, Hobby, Outdoor Group, Café, and New Group. Your task will be to find meaningful activities for the participants at the Day Center with the resources available.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone who is a trained support educator or social educator. You have good knowledge and experience working with individuals with various disabilities. We also appreciate if you have worked with and have good knowledge of sign language support and visual aids. A B driver's license is an advantage.

To succeed in this role, we see that you are accustomed to working with people and can collaborate with individuals in various contexts and functions while encouraging organizational learning. You create positive and respectful relationships with participants at the Day Center through a professional and empathetic approach. Furthermore, we see that you have the ability to plan and organize your work and have a good ability to develop goals and follow up on individual implementation plans, document efforts, and write reports.
