Inspirera Assistans AB works to ensure that the customer receives the safest assistance, and you as a personal assistant play a significant role in making that happen. Are you good at building positive relationships, have a strong commitment, are attentive, and are used to taking responsibility and adapting to new situations? A good personal chemistry between the assistant and the customer is crucial for enjoying the role of a personal assistant. Each customer is unique, and their individual needs determine what you will do.

Now you have the chance for a permanent position as a personal assistant to our 12-year-old customer. He lives just outside Linköping with his family in a house with good bus connections, which means you do not need a driver's license.

We have some expectations for you as an applicant, and that is that you have your heart in the right place and are passionate about working with children.

Employment Rate:
We currently have 2 open positions at approximately 65%.

Job Responsibilities:

  • You will help and support our customer with most aspects of his daily life, which may include assisting with his training, an important part of his life. Support and assist during meal times and especially during playtime.
  • Outdoor activities are an important part of the customer's life, so much of your working time will be spent outside, which is why it is important to dress appropriately for the weather. Being able to swim and accompany him while swimming is also necessary.
  • After working a waking night shift, you will help with morning routines and ensure that he gets to school with the school taxi, which you will also accompany to ensure he arrives safely.
  • The day shift starts with meeting him at school and taking the school taxi home from school.

About the Customer:
I am a wonderful 12-year-old boy living with my mom, dad, and siblings in a house with good bus connections, so a driver's license is not a requirement.

A large and important part of my life is being outside, regardless of the weather, as it makes me feel good. Therefore, you must wear weather-appropriate clothing while working with me. I can walk short distances if you help hold me, and like all 12-year-olds, I enjoy fun and play.

You will be my extended arms and legs. I am unsteady, so I need your help with all transfers, assistance with my personal hygiene, support during meal times, and help when I am training my motor skills and communication since I do not communicate verbally. I have epilepsy and self-harming behavior that you need to be aware of, and you may need a dose of patience as I sometimes make sounds!

I am fast and strong, so you need to have good physical fitness, be attentive, and possess a large portion of patience.

If you give yourself and me the time to get to know each other, we will become a great team, and you will have an educational, meaningful, and fun job!

Everything will be clearly explained during the introduction.

Working Hours:
* Night shifts Sunday-Friday from 22:00-08:00 (waking night)
* Weekdays 13:30-21:30 + Wednesdays 12:30-21:30 and on weekends or days off 08:00-16:00 + 16:00-21:30
* When he is off from school in the summer, the hours may vary.

(On weekdays, the evening shift starts at school, as does the work shift for those who worked the night.)

Start date is according to agreement, but the need is immediate. Before you start working independently, you will go through 5 introductory shifts where you will shadow an experienced assistant to learn routines and get to know the boy and his family. It is therefore desirable if you can start the introduction as soon as possible.

Are you the one we are looking for?

  • Knowledge/experience of epilepsy
  • Possible knowledge of cognitive disabilities
  • Experience with individuals with self-harming behavior
