Do you want a job where you contribute to strengthening women's and children's rights?

Do you also want to make a positive difference for women and children affected by violence? Then you could be our new colleague!

Who are we?

The Social Office in Norrköping Municipality focuses on individual needs, always prioritizing the best interests of the child. It should be easy to get help. Our support and treatment interventions are of high quality and based on legally secure assessments. We want to find solutions close to the individual and contribute to a positive change for them. Together, we want to create safety and good social services for those of us living in Norrköping.

Frideborg is part of the Social Office that works with violence in close relationships. Frideborg currently consists of a sheltered accommodation for women and their children, as well as an open operation with a treatment component where we offer counseling support to individuals living/having lived with violence in close relationships.

The position we are recruiting for is located at the sheltered accommodation.

At the unit, we provide support and emergency accommodation for women and children affected by violence. The support is characterized by the acute situation that the woman and children find themselves in. The unit works with a clear child rights perspective, and we have clear goals and methods for the operation, as well as systematic follow-up.

Currently, there are six employees at the accommodation, and we have a close collaboration with the other parts of Frideborg, the Social Office's authority exercise, and the Women's Shelter Association.

Your tasks

As an employee, you will primarily be responsible for providing support to the adults placed in the accommodation. The support consists of both counseling support, practical assistance, authority contacts, educational activities, and support in the parental role. You will base your work on knowledge of reactions to violence exposure and the needs that may arise from vulnerability and crisis. You will also provide support to children staying at the accommodation.

Since the work is located in an accommodation, your tasks will also include practical duties necessary for the unit to function well.

You will work with authority collaboration and support for permanent housing.

We work with case management based on implementation plans created together with the resident. At the accommodation, we operate under clear structures and document continuously.

You will become part of a well-functioning workgroup with strong competencies. The group has a strong commitment to creating the best possible conditions for the women and children who stay with us.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is a trained social worker, behavioral scientist, or has another equivalent higher education that the employer deems suitable.

Based on the target group and its needs, we see that you are a female employee. You have previous experience working with violence in close relationships and are well acquainted with the target group and its needs.

As a person, you are flexible, adaptable, and enjoy variety in your tasks. You have the ability to remain calm in stressful situations, are reliable, and can easily collaborate with others. Your empathetic ability is strong, and you work to build trustworthy relationships without taking over the other person's feelings.

A large part of the work with us involves working to empower and motivate, to trust in the individual's own abilities, and to encourage positive and often life-changing changes.

In addition, you have good documentation skills, possess strong knowledge of the Swedish language both spoken and written, and have a B driver's license.

For this position, we will require a criminal record extract.

Warm welcome with your application!
