Social Pedagogue at Norrköping's Ungbo

Are you flexible, relationship-building, and responsible? Then you could be our next colleague at Ungbo!

Who are we?

Norrköping's Ungbo is a social assistance-based initiative in the form of placement in supported housing for ages 16-20 or open care services for ages 18-20. The purpose and goal of Norrköping's Ungbo is to provide young people living in one of our independent apartments in the municipality the opportunity to train and prepare for independent living and adulthood in a safe environment.

Norrköping's Ungbo can be an independent placement option or serve as a transition after other care outside the home. The youth with us are under care according to the Social Services Act or the Care of Young Persons Act. Our youth live with us for various reasons and with different challenges, but they all share the commonality that it is not suitable for them to live at home with their parents.

Your Responsibilities

In the role of social pedagogue, you will work closely with the youth you are a contact person for. You will work in a team with your colleagues to provide the youth with the best conditions to become independent young adults. The work is tailored to each individual youth and includes support of both practical and emotional nature. We work based on MI and Feedback Informed Treatment (FIT) to help the youth achieve the set goals. The goal is for the youth to manage their own housing and adult life by having an occupation and managing their finances.

Working at Ungbo requires great flexibility while you are expected to work purposefully according to the current operational description and implementation plans. Many of our youth need support from you as a contact person regarding risk/addiction, school/employment, mental health, and norm-breaking behavior. Based on this, you will need to collaborate closely with other actors such as Moa reception, Probation Service, Psychiatry, and Schools. You need to be able to work systematically and quickly shift focus as needed.

As staff, you will work on a schedule and will work both morning, evening, and every fourth weekend. You will always have colleagues on duty, but large parts of your workday will involve working alone, so you need to feel comfortable and secure in independently planning and structuring your workday and making your own decisions.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is an educated social pedagogue, treatment assistant, social worker, or has another behavioral science education that the employer deems equivalent. Since communication and documentation are part of the job, good Swedish in speech and writing is required. As a person, you have the ability to work with other people; to listen, show empathy, and respect.

You are unpretentious and recognize and reward the achievements of others. Furthermore, you stand for good ethics and sound values both within the organization and in society at large.

In this role, it is important that you have the ability to create and maintain good relationships, both internally and externally. You collaborate well with people in different contexts and functions. In addition, you are interested in developing the operations together with us.

A driving license (B) is a requirement.

Welcome with your application!
