Your Responsibilities

In the role of technical writer, you will work with technical documentation for Saab's various products and systems within air, sea, and ground radar. Your main task will be to write manuals and instructions for the operators and technicians who use our products, transforming technically complex information into something understandable and user-friendly. The manuals will cover, for example, how the operator is expected to work in our software as well as work instructions for corrective maintenance, spare parts, etc. A central part of the work as a technical writer is to gather product information from our designers and other technical specialists internally. This means you will have extensive internal contacts and close collaboration with other departments and functions.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with a university degree in technical communication or equivalent and a couple of years of work experience as a technical writer or in a similar role. If you are an educated engineer combined with experience as a technical writer, that is also relevant. We expect you to have a genuine interest in technology and a good ability to understand technical documentation at a basic level to navigate, for example, construction/drawing documentation. As a person, you also need to be good at collaborating with others and easily establish contacts to share and gather information. Furthermore, you work in a structured and meticulous manner, enjoy variation in your work, and are flexible in handling parallel projects where tasks may sometimes need to be reprioritized based on timelines and needs. The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable security protection regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may involve requirements for specific citizenship.
