The Municipal Executive Office leads and coordinates the municipality's strategic planning and development. The Guardianship Cooperation, which belongs to the Municipal Executive Office, handles cases for the municipalities of Alingsås, Lerum, and Ale and is located in the Town Hall, centrally in Alingsås. To complement our workgroup, we are now looking for a committed and analytical legal case officer who wants to contribute to legal security and safety for individuals represented by a guardian, trustee, or custodian.
The Guardian is a municipal supervisory authority responsible for ensuring that individuals represented by a representative – guardian, trustee, or custodian – do not suffer legal losses. Supervision is carried out through the review of financial and other accounting documents and by granting permission for various legal actions.
JOB DESCRIPTION
As a legal case officer with us, you will have a qualified and varied assignment with great responsibility. You will handle cases according to the Parental Code and the Act on Guardianship for Unaccompanied Children. The work includes, among other things, that you:

- Review annual accounts, final accounts, inventories, and other accounting documents.
- Handle permission cases, such as real estate sales, asset placements, and inheritances.
- Prepare statements for the court, represent the authority at court hearings, and make legal assessments primarily within guardianship law, inheritance law, and administrative law.
- Recruit, train, and inform representatives about the assignment.
You will also play an important role in developing the operations and providing legal support to your colleagues. This means that you will monitor legal developments, follow changes in legislation and practices, and identify needs for improvements. You will assist the unit manager in the development and revision of governing documents, such as delegation orders and guidelines, and coordinate the unit's work with information security.
The role involves contacts with the public and several stakeholders. Therefore, you need to have a very good ability to communicate, coordinate, and create clarity in complex situations.
The work is largely digital and requires accuracy in documentation and structured case management.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who has:
- A law degree or other relevant higher education in law.
- Good knowledge of family law and administrative law.
- Experience in public authority exercise or case handling.
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience in guardianship issues, family law, or similar legal areas.
- Experience or knowledge in information security.
To thrive and succeed in the role, you need to have:
- Very good ability to plan and structure your work.
- Ability to independently monitor legal developments in the area.
- High integrity and a conscious approach to confidentiality and legal security.
- Ability to prioritize and work efficiently even with varying workloads.
- Good collaboration skills and a willingness to contribute to a professional and supportive team.
- A commitment to improving the everyday lives of individuals with representatives.
The position of legal case officer is a role for you who are looking for a meaningful job where law, social benefit, and human rights meet. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
