The regional investigation unit is responsible, together with the police areas, for the region's investigative activities. The investigation unit coordinates and drives operational development from a regional perspective in collaboration with the national operational department and other regions. The regional investigation unit works with, among other things, the investigation of serious crimes, victim work, and forensic science.

The Fraud Section belongs to the investigation unit in Region West. The crime phenomenon of fraud develops and changes in line with developments in society. Therefore, a major task for the Fraud Section is to develop operations to meet new conditions. The Fraud Section is responsible for the handling of the region's incoming fraud cases.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As an investigator, you will be placed in the Fraud Section's case flow. You will investigate fraud crimes of an economic nature under the leadership of the preliminary investigation leader, where you perform initial investigative measures to secure evidence and, if possible, identify a suspect. As an investigator, you will have several cases, where you will continuously receive new ones as they arise and where the cases are of a shorter nature. You prepare and are responsible for your own cases and conduct witness and victim interviews. A large part of the work involves gathering information, e.g., through surveillance, transactions, and reports. The position involves contact with external actors such as banks, stores, and other authorities. You will receive an introduction to the role from experienced investigators in the section.

Your job responsibilities include:

QUALIFICATIONS

This is an opportunity for you who:

  • Are currently undergoing police training
  • Have good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing
  • Have good knowledge of the Office suite

It is an advantage if you also have:

  • Completed the crime investigation course at the police academy.
  • Previous experience of similar tasks within the police.
  • Previous experience of administrative tasks within public sector.
  • Experience with the Police's investigation system Durtvå.

Personal qualities

We are looking for someone who is meticulous, stable, and focuses on the right things. As an investigator, you will have a variety of cases, so we see that you are self-sufficient and take responsibility for your task while driving your processes forward. The investigator's tasks include witness and victim interviews as well as information gathering and external contacts, which requires you to be a structured person who plans, organizes, and prioritizes work effectively.

We will place great emphasis on personal qualities.

Work location: Gothenburg. The Fraud Section is a regional section, which creates opportunities for other placement locations within Police Region West by agreement.
Working hours: Flexible working hours. Daytime.
Start date: June by agreement
