WALLENIUS SOL (https://wallenius-sol.com/en) is an innovative shipping company focused on sustainable shipping. WALLENIUS SOL operates regular line traffic between a large number of ports in northern Finland and Sweden, Germany, the Benelux region, and the UK. The vessels in the fleet are specially selected to withstand the tough conditions of the Gulf of Bothnia. With flexible tonnage, we have the capacity for container cargo, RoRo, and StoRo. For us, sustainable shipping means that our operations have no negative impact on the environment. Our goal is to be fossil-free by 2035. With modern and technologically advanced vessels, WALLENIUS SOL already leads the RoRo league for low emissions, according to the independent MRV report 2024, and is now actively working on developing a newbuilding program for the next generation of vessels.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the accounting within the company, from ongoing accounting and the year-end closing process to liquidity planning, tax management, and group reporting. This role has not existed in this form before, but with the growth of the past year and upcoming investments in the company, we look forward to complementing the team with this central role. We are now looking for someone who wants to be part of the journey to shape the accounting function in a company that is in a very exciting phase. You will report to the company's CFO and work closely with both the accounting team and other departments in the organization.

Your responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for accounting, tax, and treasury within the group
• Prepare monthly financial statements, annual financial statements, and annual reports
• Group accounting according to applicable regulations
• Manage tax declarations and provide advice on tax matters
• Liquidity planning and follow-up
• Responsible for fixed asset register
• Coordination of audits and contact with external parties
• Development and compliance of internal processes and financial systems

Who we are looking for
We are looking for someone with several years of experience in accounting and group accounting. You have a university degree in economics, preferably with a background in auditing, and have developed strong competencies in accounting, year-end closing, tax, and financial reporting.

You thrive in an environment where change is part of everyday life. Experience from growth companies and in international operations is an advantage. You have good knowledge of Excel and are accustomed to navigating modern business systems. For this role, you need to be fluent in both English and Swedish.
