Family Therapist Needed for Family Support Unit in Lerum

We are looking for a family therapist for our open care for families, children, and youth, the Family Support Unit in Lerum, as one family therapist is retiring and another will take on a different role. In Lerum, we have close access to decision-makers and partners. It is easy to travel to Lerum, and the transportation links are good.

You will join 13 dedicated colleagues with extensive experience in social work and family therapy. We hope you want to be part of our group and contribute with your experience and skills. We provide regular external supervision and close, ongoing methodological support from method supervisors. We also have some flexibility in our working hours as Lerum Municipality applies annual working hours. We have implemented Signs of Safety across all units within the child and youth area.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a family therapist, you will work on behalf of social workers, with families and children/youth aged 0-18 years. The family therapist is responsible for collaboratively designing and following up on interventions with the family in relation to the goals. The new Social Services Act opens up the possibility for the unit to also work with interventions that are not assessed for assistance.

We work from a systemic perspective, are solution-oriented, and strive to work evidence-based. The assignments vary in intensity and areas of need, such as violence, family conflicts, norm-breaking behavior, criminality, school absenteeism, and neurodevelopmental disorders.

We actively and flexibly engage in change work together with parents and their children and with other important individuals and professional actors for the family. This involves various forms of support such as family conversations, parental support, and individual conversations with children and youth. An important part of the work is to activate the family's network to create a safe and sustainable family situation, which may involve network meetings.

In the role of family therapist, you are expected to work both in teams and individually depending on the nature of the assignment. The work takes place in our beautiful premises, in the home, or in other suitable locations. You are also expected to be able to work evenings to some extent, and you are expected to participate with other colleagues in planning and distributing tasks so that the unit can use resources and experiences as optimally as possible.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are a social worker, social pedagogue (3-year education), or have another higher education that the employer finds equivalent. You should have experience in psychosocial work with families, children, and youth. Further training in systemic work, FFT, Repulse, CBT, Trappan, Safer Children, FCU, COS, and Marte Meo or other methodological knowledge in the field is meritorious. You have a knack for motivating people to change and work from a salutogenic approach.

We place great emphasis on being responsible, flexible, and resilient, as well as having a good ability to establish cooperation with families, parents, children, youth, and internal/external partners. You have experience in documentation and a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing. We use the operational system Treserva. Personal suitability will be of great importance.

A driver's license is required.
