Job Responsibilities
Prilyckegatan 149 is a residence with special services.
Here, seven users live, and the operation also includes a satellite apartment located a bit away from the residence. With us, users with intellectual disabilities and individuals on the autism spectrum reside.
As a support educator, you have the overall responsibility for the educational work within the operation. Your role is to gather and disseminate knowledge about working methods and methods and ensure that these are used and developed effectively. Together with the workgroup, you establish, implement, and follow up on routines, action plans, and activity descriptions. This way, we all become better at understanding needs and providing the right support. Then more can live a good and independent life like everyone else.
As a support educator, you ensure that social documentation and implementation plans are established, further developed, and followed according to laws and guidelines. You act as support and guide for each individual employee, the workgroup, and you are also support for the manager. You guide the workgroup based on the needs and methods of the operation. Together with your colleagues, you play a central role in the quality development of the operation and the systematic improvement work.
You are part of a network with other educators and collaborate with relatives, guardians, and other key individuals to ensure that the tenants receive good care, support, and services.
Residences with special services offer support around the clock. We base our work on the tenants' needs and need to adjust working hours accordingly. Working hours are scheduled for day, evening, and weekend shifts as needed. We use Time Care Planning for operationally adapted and influenceable schedules.
Qualifications
For the position of support educator, post-secondary specialization in the disability field is required, which includes at least 200 YH points, 120 university credits, or 60 university credits with two years of work experience with people with disabilities. The education should have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent.
Communication and documentation are an important part of the work, which requires that you have passed Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1. Those who do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1 may be offered to take a language test through the test user Educateit.
It is a requirement for the position that you have previous experience working as a support educator.
It is advantageous for the position that you have knowledge and experience in low-arousal approaches, alternative and augmentative communication, clarifying pedagogy, independent living, person-centered needs, and motivational interviewing.
You convey information and ideas clearly both verbally and in writing. You ensure that your message gets across. You adapt your communication according to the recipient, target group, and situation. You are attentive and open to understanding other people's needs, feelings, and opinions. You are receptive to what others say or express and show respect, consideration, and care in your interactions. You work well with others by listening, showing interest, and respect. You plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively. You ensure that the work is completed on time and follow up on the results.
