The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse, across the country. At SiS, your work life becomes an exciting challenge. SiS youth home Nereby operates in Harestad and Bergsjön. We conduct differentiated and high-quality school, care, and treatment work. The operations include a variety of professions, such as teachers, treatment pedagogues, psychologists, nurses, and more. SiS youth home Nereby accepts both school-attending and non-school-attending boys with psychosocial issues, as well as criminal behavior and substance abuse.
Job Description
Do you want to help create life-changing differences for vulnerable people? Then the job as a treatment assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. The goal of your assignment is to motivate our youth to new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you will ensure that the routines in the department function as they should. You play a significant role in the stability and safety of our youth and clients, and you are responsible for the foundation of daily life, such as schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. You will contribute to maintaining safety in the institution according to our routines, and documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building secure relationships and contribute to ensuring that our youth/clients receive the safety and security they need to break old habits. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are according to a schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends.
As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training. The training combines theory with guided introduction and prepares you for the treatment role in SiS operations.
Qualifications
Your personal suitability is key to life-changing transformation. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of people, great empathy, and the ability to build good relationships. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.
You should also have:
- Completed upper secondary education
- Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., in psychiatry, HVB operations, or care and support.
- Driver's license B
- Good Swedish in speech and writing

Employment:
The position is a temporary employment/seasonal employment/summer job.
By agreement from June to August with the possibility of temporary employment during the spring and autumn of 2025.
Start date by agreement. Before employment, the employer will handle background checks against suspicions and the criminal record.
