The Gothenburg Primary School Administration is one of the largest school administrations in Sweden. We are responsible for the city's municipal schools from preschool class to grade nine, adapted primary school, culture school, and after-school care. In the administration, there are 138 municipal primary schools where almost 47,000 students attend school every day. JOB DESCRIPTION

Gamlestadsskolan is a K-9 school located in the historic Gamlestaden. Approximately 550 students attend grades K-9 at Gamlestadsskolan, and we also have an adapted primary school and five after-school care centers where our youngest students can receive care. We focus on developing our teaching. We do this, among other things, with the help of our language policy, which serves as support for planning and implementing teaching.

The school is organized so that there are smaller schools within the large school, all to increase proximity and to ensure that everyone feels seen. We actively work to create a sense of community where the school's teachers and students jointly feel a responsibility for the school's environment and well-being.

As a school social worker, you will be part of the school's student health team and contribute with psychosocial competence at the organizational, group, and individual levels. In student health, you collaborate with the school nurse, special educator, school psychologist, school doctor, and principal. The team's mission is to work health-promoting and preventive together with the principal and work teams to strengthen children's and adolescents' opportunities to achieve their goals.

Your tasks include participating in the school's ongoing values and safety work, support conversations, collaborating with and supporting guardians, consulting with staff, and interventions in groups/classes. You will also conduct school social investigations and assessments before receiving students in adapted primary school and investigate student absences. Furthermore, you will also collaborate with external actors such as social services, habilitation, UPH, and BUP.

Within the primary school administration, you will participate in professional meetings once a month with social worker colleagues and professional developers and participate in external supervision. As a new school social worker, you will also receive an introduction and a mentor.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or equivalent higher education. We prefer that you have experience working as a school social worker and experience working with children and young people. You have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing as you document your work in PMO, and you have good knowledge of the Social Services Act and the Education Act.

Meritorious are also:

• Experience working in social services
• Experience in promoting and preventive measures
• Training in conversation methodology/supervision

As a person, you are stable, empathetic, unpretentious, and secure in your professional role. You have a strong commitment to the psychosocial situation of children and young people and have the ability to meet people in different life situations. You enable children's storytelling and contribute to highlighting students' participation and perspectives.

You easily build relationships and are professional and respectful in your interactions with students, guardians, and colleagues. You need to have an interest in working in a pedagogical environment and in teams with different professions.

In your work, you are structured and clear and have the ability to take your own initiative and make decisions within the framework of your assignment. You also prioritize your efforts together with the principal and other student health staff. You enjoy working with complex issues, see opportunities, and are creative. You remain calm in difficult situations and can make well-founded decisions under time pressure.
