The Tornet Health Center is a stable, well-functioning, and expanding unit with nearly 8000 registered patients and just over 800 registered children at the associated family center Tellus (BVC).

We have about 35 dedicated employees working in various professional categories in interdisciplinary teams to provide the best possible care to our patients. The team consists of 5 permanent specialist doctors, district nurses, nurses with specialist competence, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, social workers, and secretaries. We offer child health care (BVC), medical consultations, district nurse consultations, specialist nurse consultations for allergy-asthma-COPD, diabetes, infections, lifestyle habits, vaccinations, memory clinics, and elderly care consultations, as well as consultations with occupational therapists, social workers, and physiotherapists.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nursing assistant with us, you will be part of one of our two interdisciplinary teams and work closely with other professionals. You will work in blocks and partially as an emergency nursing assistant alongside doctors/nurses who are also on emergency duty. In the role of nursing assistant, you will perform tasks such as sample collection, EKG, glucose tolerance tests, hearing tests, blood pressure checks, and minor wound dressings, as well as assist in various examinations such as gynecological, proctological, and rectoscopy. In addition to these tasks, you will also call patients to specialist consultations and conduct preparatory examinations.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a trained nursing assistant with a focus on healthcare/emergency care according to the previous program structure or are a trained nursing assistant within the new program structure who has studied all specializations. Good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, are required for the position. Previous experience working at a health center is a requirement.

We expect you, like us, to have a genuine interest in people, a good attitude, and to work with the patient in focus. It is important that you have a good ability to build trust with both patients and relatives while being clear in your communication. Additionally, you have good collaboration skills and enjoy working in teams across professional boundaries, while also being able to work independently and feeling secure in your professional role. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

As of July 1, 2023, the title of nursing assistant became a protected professional title. This means that you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title of nursing assistant within healthcare and social services. If you currently have a permanent position as a nursing assistant and are offered a new position, you can retain your title as a nursing assistant until June 30, 2033. At any interview/employment, you will need to present proof of the protected professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare or a certificate that you were permanently employed on July 1, 2023.
