Medicine Department 8 is the only internal medicine inpatient department at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) in Lund, where our educational unit, the Clinical Education Department (KUA), is included.

In our department, we primarily care for elderly patients with multiple illnesses from the emergency department who are being investigated and treated for conditions such as heart failure, respiratory failure, infections, diabetes, and cognitive impairment. Here, different professions complement each other with their unique skills, combined with high engagement that creates quality and team spirit.

KUA is an important part of the department and constitutes one of our teams. KUA is led by a clinical teacher, and students learn through interprofessional education. Both as a new and experienced nurse, there is an opportunity to develop in mentorship and leadership alongside your colleagues.

- I enjoy meeting people, and here we see the whole person. We encounter a wide patient clientele with many different diagnoses, and I can still develop through internal training and new situations that arise. In KUA, where we work interprofessionally, the overall picture of the patient becomes clear as we see different aspects of the patient situation based on our expertise. We mentors take a step back, and the students are in the foreground. The good atmosphere, strong cohesion, joy, and laughter make me look forward to my next shift. RESPONSIBILITIES

With us, we have a competent group of nurses with extensive experience in the nursing profession. We want to become even better and welcome two new colleagues to our team.

In your role as a nurse, you will be responsible for basic and specific nursing care, risk assessment, and preventive measures. You will work closely with patients in a team with primarily nursing assistants, doctors, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists, and we operate based on wise clinical choices. Part of the nurses' responsibilities with us involves mentoring students from the nursing program who are completing their basic placements here and their KUA period.

There are several paths to develop in your profession with us. As a newly graduated nurse, you will be part of Sus's clinical foundation program with regular training sessions over a two-year period. We offer clinical competence development in the department that takes place in weekly forums, in the form of lectures and practical training based on employees' wishes, as well as working closely with our clinical specialist in your daily work. Lectures are held by our unit responsible doctors and our clinical specialist, alternating with practical training in, for example, ultrasound techniques for IV placement, pleural drains, or HFNC. You will have the opportunity for training in various forms of mentorship, such as peer learning and reflective mentorship.

We create wish schedules, allowing you to influence how you want to work for the best balance between work and leisure. We will plan your introduction together to create a safe and educational start with us.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a licensed nurse with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. You have language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale.
