The majority of our operations are conducted during the day, so we need you who want to work daytime. Our availability for children at night needs to increase, so we are also looking for those who want to work night shifts. Additionally, we are looking for those who enjoy varied working hours. The Pediatric Surgery and Youth Operation is part of the pediatric surgery and neonatal care department at Skåne University Hospital (Sus). We are southern Sweden's specialist surgical department focused on children and adolescents. Our patients range from premature infants up to eighteen years old, but the majority of the children are younger than four years. We conduct both emergency and planned surgeries and receive children from several different departments, such as pediatric surgery, pediatric medicine, ENT, ophthalmology, orthopedics, maxillofacial and dental care, and thoracic surgery. The operation is both complex and unique, as we are the only surgical department offering nationally specialized care (NHV) in both thoracic surgery and pediatric surgery. In addition to the surgeries performed in the operating room, we also provide anesthesia for, for example, MRI, CT scans, and treatments for children throughout the hospital.

New technology and new workflows provide exciting challenges even for those who have worked as operating room nurses for a long time. RESPONSIBILITIES

In the role of an operating room nurse, you will ensure that patients and their relatives feel well cared for both before, during, and after surgery. We work according to the Convention on the Rights of the Child, with the child's best interests at the center of all care situations. Teamwork is central, and together with colleagues, you work to provide the patient with the best possible care. You are responsible for the care of the patient and instrumenting during many of the surgeries performed, as well as participating in pre- and post-operative work. In your daily work, you handle a large amount of medical technical equipment.

Together, we ensure that you receive the knowledge you need to succeed in your role. You will have a mentor and supervisor who, together with you, will plan your introduction. The individual introduction is tailored to your experiences, competencies, and wishes.

We offer opportunities for training and development days both individually and in groups. There is also the possibility to apply for funding from our educational fund for further education aimed at developing the organization. Conveying and developing knowledge in surgical nursing, focused on the child, is central to us, so it is entirely appropriate to now invest in building and developing a training room. QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a licensed nurse with specialist training in surgical nursing and authorized to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale are required. It is an advantage for the position if you have experience working in an operating room.
